Hypothetical Case Studies (based on previous confidential projects delivered/pilot project being carried out)

These case studies are extracted from the pilot projects being carried out by Roboautal and/or the programs previously executed by Roboautal directors. Specimen case studies shall continue to be published here in future too. To maintain confidentiality of the actual firms and services extended, the references have been generalized and certain information has been intentionally withheld.

For case study, we shall repeatedly refer to fictional company – Hard Working Pte. Ltd. (“HWPL”), which shall be Roboautal’s client in all case studies. It could either be a “Small Enterprise” or a “Medium Enterprise”. HWPL’s background information relevant to “digital technology adoption” or “digital transformation” exercise, are as follows:

Roboautal’s Quintessential Client

For the purpose of illustration consider a fictional company – Hard Working Pte. Ltd. (“HWPL”), which may either be a “Small Enterprise” or “Medium Enterprise”. The characteristics of this company from the perspective of parameters relevant to the “Digital Transformation” exercise, are as follows:

  • HWPL’s senior management have built the company from scratch and are exceptional domain experts in their respective business/operation areas.
  • For the purpose of deeper and consistent explanations of use cases, assumed HWPL to be an active sub-contractor in the construction sector. Meanwhile, these notes might resonate with clients in other sectors also as some of the inherent business models and pain points when it comes to technology adoption might be the same. Meanwhile, Roboautal shall also be progressively preparing notes and use cases to other sectors.
  •  HWPL’s senior management has established business process based on the various experiences and lessons learnt since the incorporation of the company. In other words, it is the wealth of these business processes which has enabled HWPL to achieve its status and propellor of its current growth.
  • HWPL’s senior management have been continually looking for opportunities to improve the business processes including adoption of latest technologies to further improve the existing business processes.

• HWPL’s constantly find themselves in one of the following two business environments:
HWPL is very busy with their existing projects/contracts and are trying to manage their existing resources to deliver the said projects/contracts; or
HWPL has delivered most of their contracts and are frantically tendering for new projects to ensure continuity of work for their inhouse resources.
  • In either of the above scenarios, HWPL’s senior management is unable to allocate adequate efforts, time or resources required for business process improvement exercises such as “Digital Transformation”.
  • HWPL’s mid-level managers and executives are well versed with the existing business processes and their forward and back-ward integration with the overall firms’ objectives and targets. Though generally supportive of improvements, these executives are reluctant to any major changes due to the potential disruption and consequences thereof.
  • HWPL’s personnel are generally aware of the potential improvements in efficiency and productivity that may be achieved by technology adoption, but their current workloads and priorities restrain their capability to meaningfully explore specific opportunities.
  • Due to the criticality of the existing business processes for the on-going projects, HWPL personnel is concerned of any potential disruption that any business process transformation or improvement exercise could entail.

If most (or at least some) of the above parameters seems applicable to your company too, you may also be able to reflect the various points addressed in these case studies. And Roboautal may be able to assist your firm in navigating the seemingly complex journey of digital technology adoption.

It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.”
